Twist and Shout: Aftermath.

Imagine five years down the road after Cas' death and Dean is sitting with Abigail in his lap, showing her pictures of his past, and she puts her little hand on one of the photos of Cas at the beach and goes, "Uncle Cassie".

What if she is asking where Uncle Cassie is? She can't figure out why Uncle Cassie isn't around. He's in the pictures, right? Maybe she's tugging at the edges, trying to get him out.

Dean can't figure out what to tell her, so he just lets a single tear fall, and lets her believe he's stuck in the photo.

Show and Tell:

"I have a mummy, a daddy, an Uncle Dean, and an Uncle Cassie, but Uncle Cassie is stuck in this photo. It's okay, I read him stories sometimes and sing him Elvis. He seems to like it because he always smiles. I don't know how to get him out, but maybe I can one day, and he will be with me forever."

When she is sixteen, Dean decides to tell her. He tells her all about the wonderful times Cas and he had together. He told her about the house on the hill with the white picket fence, about the milkshakes, about Elvis, and about spaghetti. He tells her about the beach, about the photo, then about the war. He tells her that he was all he could think about, but when he came home, he couldn't be around him because all he could dream about was hurting him and he was afraid it would come true. Then he tells her about how he got so scared that he ran away and never came back. He explains how he found out about Cas dying from his older brother, then came to visit him. Speaks of Tessa, of Balthazar, of Cas slowly getting sicker, then about him taking Cas to the beach one last time. Tells her about Cas dying and how he sang Can't Help Falling In Love With You, then about the letter he started with "Dear Cas", but never finished. Dean takes her to his grave where she sits in front of the headstone and tells Cas about her life, about the photo, and about how great of an uncle Dean was. Tells Cas about how awesome it would be if he was still around and how much Dean still loves him. She hugs the photo to her chest, looks up at Dean, then asks him to take her to the beach her uncles first went to. He agrees.
